This significant increase was to be expected following the usual slowdown over the new year period. A closer look shows house sales increased by 61.7 per cent, unit sales increased by 60.2 per cent and vacant land sales increased by 22.2 per cent.
Properties for sale
There were 7,188
properties for sale in Perth at the end of last week, which is up 1.1 per cent compared with the previous week. This can be attributed to house listings increasing 1.8 per cent while unit and vacant land listings were relatively stable.
Last week's total figure of properties available for sale is 11.2 per cent lower than levels seen four weeks ago and 12.2 per cent lower than levels seen a year ago.

In Perth's rental market, REIWA members reported there were 1,996
properties for rent in Perth at the end of last week, which is 9.3 per cent more than the previous week. Last week's rental listings figure is 10 per cent higher than levels seen four weeks ago but 17.6 per cent lower than a year ago.
REIWA members reported 609 properties leased, which is 71.5 per cent higher than the previous week but 13.9 per cent lower than levels seen four weeks ago and 17.6 per cent lower than levels seen a year ago.
